What is Dar Al Ber?
Dar Al Ber Society is one of the first charities in the UAE, established in the Emirate of Dubai in 1979. The charity was issued by the Ministry of Social Affairs under resolution no. (23/78) as a cultural and social charity which is based on the directives and decisions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
What is the Dar Al Ber Scholarship Program?
The program provides much-needed assistance to students in the UAE. In order to benefit from the program students must meet a list of clear conditions including:
- The applicant must be struggling academically.
- The applicant does not have a stable source of income or an income less than his expenses.
- That all identification papers and documents required to be completed.
How will my donation be transferred to the beneficiary student\school?
Dar Al Ber has a specific mechanism for the delivery of funds to schools - either by issuing bank cheques to the school beneficiary, or transferring the amount to the beneficiary school bank account.
How much does a scholarship typically cost a student?
The cost can differ depending on school type, location, level of study. The estimated cost per student is from 8,000 AED to 15,000 AED per year.
Will my donation be used in any other way?
An amount of 10% is deducted to cover administrative expenses of Dar Al Ber.
